In the current global environment, it’s more important than ever to plan what you need to buy at the grocery and think about what you are eating. And with more people at home, you are probably looking for some easy solutions. Throwing a smoothie in the blender is one of the easiest ways to get your nutrients and save time. So, when you are planning your shopping, include these six ingredients for delicious smoothies that will keep you healthy.

Frozen Blueberries

A great basis for any smoothie, blueberries are packed with antioxidants. They also help balance your hormones and decrease the risk of heart disease while supplying you with fiber, Vitamin C and B6. Getting the frozen variety gives you a tart smoothie with all of the antioxidants you need to start your day. If blueberries aren’t your favorite, you can substitute frozen blackberries, raspberries, banana or any other favorite fruit.

Plant-Based Milk

If you’re looking for a nutrient-dense smoothie, using hemp milk can give you just that. If your smoothie is all you’re eating for breakfast, hemp milk is an awesome choice. If you’re looking for something lighter, you can use almond or coconut milk. Oat milk adds a thicker texture along with a natural sweetness. Having a carton of plant-based milk can give your smoothie the texture you’re looking for.

Spinach

The ultimate healthy base for any smoothie, spinach offers an amazing array of health benefits. Giving you a dose of leafy greens first thing in the morning, spinach offers the calcium, protein and Vitamin B to power you through your day. The best part? You won’t even taste the spinach in your smoothie under the blueberries!

Cashews

A thickening agent that will have your taste buds jumping for joy, cashews bring protein and creaminess to your smoothie. Grab a handful of raw cashews and toss them in before you blend. You can buy in bulk and have them on-hand for weeks before needing to buy more.

Flax Seeds

Flax seeds provide healthy fats that your brain needs to perform at optimal levels. Setting you up for your day with protein, fiber and better digestion, a tablespoon of flaxseeds is a great addition to your morning smoothie.

Cinnamon

Filled with antioxidants, cinnamon not only helps fight inflammation and lower blood sugar levels, but it also tastes amazing. Combined with the taste of cashews and plant-based milk, cinnamon is an amazing addition to your morning smoothie. Studies have also found that cinnamon helps energize your system, so maybe add more on days where you’ll have less caffeine.

These ingredients are versatile and easy to customize to what you enjoy. Giving your body the nutrients it needs early in the day, smoothies like these give you healthy sources of proteins, fats and carbohydrates. Having these ingredients on hand can give you a much easier and healthier way to eat breakfast!
